On 5 April Prime Minister Modi asked everyone in India to switch off their electricity at 9pm, and light candles for 9 minutes instead, to mark India’s battle against Coronavirus. 

Millions of craft producers and their families took part. The child lighting candles in the photo here is from a family who work for Tara Projects in New Delhi. 

Shared Earth has bought from Tara for nearly 30 years, mostly jewellery, made in the poorer areas of Delhi, and soapstone, made in Agra.
