3 kaisa grass laundry / storage baskets (can be stored inside the largest one)

These robust baskets are made out of Kaisa grass and recycled sari material. They are carefully hand-woven by skilled women in producer groups in Bangladesh.

Multicoloured

Approximate sizes (please note these baskets are handmade so sizes will vary):
65cm diameter x 46cm height (with handles) - with lid
57cm diameter x 39cm height (holes in sides for carrying) - with lid
49cm diameter x 33cm height (no handles) - no lid

The artisans purchase the materials from the local market and clean the grass before moving onto the dyeing process. After the grass has been dyed, it is then left in the sunlight to dry. Shortly after, the artisans weave the baskets with the grass using a traditional technique.

Perfect for everyday use. Primarily made with the intention of being a laundry basket, but may be used for storing other things like toys, blankets or even firewood!
