3 kaisa grass laundry / storage baskets

These robust baskets are made out of Kaisa grass. They are carefully hand-woven by skilled women in producer groups in Bangladesh.

Natural colour and multicoloured stripes

Approximate sizes:
22cm diameter x 34cm height
28cm diameter x 40cm height
34cm diameter x 46cm height

The artisans purchase the materials from the local market and clean the grass before moving onto the dyeing process. After the grass has been dyed, it is then left in the
sunlight to dry. Shortly after, the artisans weave the baskets with the grass using a traditional technique.

Perfect for everyday use. Primarily made with the intention of being a laundry basket, but may be used for storing other things like toys, blankets or even firewood!
